While remote work is growing, there’s a persistent notion that it’s only really available at start-up companies or for freelancers willing to go into business for themselves. But the reality is much different, and these four big-name companies with hundreds of remote job listings are proving it.
The companies below have all been named to the “100 Top Companies for Remote Jobs in 2018” list, recognized for the huge number of remote jobs they hired for last year.
We’ve included information about each company’s history and hiring practices, along with several jobs they’re currently hiring for. After this list, we’ve included some tips to landing a remote job at a well-known company.
4 Big-Name Companies Now Hiring for Hundreds of Remote Jobs
Salesforce is the world’s #1 customer relationship management (CRM) company, helps businesses of all sizes and from all industries connect with customers. Some of the fastest-growing and most disruptive SMBs and startups like BarkBox, Carlo’s Bakery, Gilt, Spotify, and Square use Salesforce, up to the world’s largest and most innovative enterprises, including Coca-Cola Enterprises, GE, Kimberly-Clark, Philips, and Virgin America.

Landing a Remote Job with a Big Company

- Always tailor your resume and cover letter to match the description of the job for which you’re applying. Any keywords that match your qualifications should be included, to make sure your resume is picked up by the applicant tracking system.
- Practice interviewing over the phone or through video conferencing, the most common interview methods for remote jobs.
- Don’t just showcase your qualifications for the job–show the company that you’ll be a highly effective remote worker. Discuss your strongest skills in areas like written and verbal communication, time and task management, and digital communication tools.
